IMPORTANT: This price is for the trip-planning CONSULTATION part of the service. Although cost-saving is always at the core of how I plan trips, for both myself and for clients, the idea is to target international visitors to South Africa, who due to an implicitly favourable exchange rate and cost-of-living difference, would gain exponentially more value out of covering the travel expenses of a local, knowledgeable, passionate, enthusiastic and Government CERTIFIED tour guide.
Picture this: by the time your flight lands, a local, with the global outlook of someone who’s been to five countries outside of South Africa (and spending a full 15 months in Thailand), will be there, waiting to welcome you at the airport, and take you on a great South African adventure to be enjoyed with the advantage of some practical and extensive insider knowledge!
A good chunk of my life has had me based out of what has been referred to as the “most dangerous place in South Africa”, my late grandparent’s house in Soshanguve, while my middle-class, suburban upbringing and backpacker-type eleutheromaniac spirit maintain my preference for dreamy destinations and beautiful surroundings, as the quintessential setting for soul-filling travel experiences!
That means I’m just as comfortable in “the hood” and can navigate would-be sticky situations and routes, while at the same time and as a matter of preference I relish the prospect of savouring the more sophisticated side of travel!
During our consultation, which will span multiple, non-committal sessions, we’ll come up with a detailed travel plan, covering everything including costs and tailored to your required travel style and pace.
Do you want to enjoy all the clichés, like wine-tasting, going on a game drive, etc., or do you perhaps want a more quintessentially South African experience that has you perhaps doing some taxi maths (counting money in those minibus taxis you’re told to avoid)?
Do you want to witness and be part of traditional wedding proceedings, somewhere in a rural part of this majestically beautiful and diverse WORLD-IN-ONE-COUNTRY?
As a budget-traveller myself, who has made at least one friend in every country I’ve visited, there are plenty of authentic, local experiences I can suggest and facilitate which you would have NEVER thought of in your wildest dreams!
For instance, there are certain experiences which can only truly be properly explored with a car, so we can make arrangements such as having me rent a car (at a local price) and effectively doubling-up as your designated driver, who knows when and where to drive safely and how to avoid some of the objectively existent hazards like certain criminals who spike cars at night.
Some places in SA will have you feeling like you’re somewhere in Europe or Asia, except the price of travel will feel like a steal to you, but these are some of the things you can only have proper access to if you roll with a local that identifies as a Digital Nomad and Eleutheromaniac!
So book a consultation now and let’s plan the greatest South African trip anyone has ever gone on.
PS: I’m a travel vlogger as well, so there’ll be plenty of “natural” documentation of the many moments for you to cherish, in the form of video clips and photos of [y]our trip to remember.
You might perhaps even want me to be a so-called “tall guy” or “travel angel,” operating in the background, while you pretend to be inherently streetwise enough to navigate the precarious-but-oh-so-uniquely-beautiful South African travel experience “all by yourself!”
Either way, I'm your guy. Secure your consultation NOW!
By the way -- my own local travels had me networking with the likes of shuttle service providers, to an entire POLICEMAN who is happy to offer that kind of “protection” if needs be, so between all of that and sorting you out with things like a local SIM card for free and awesome currency exchange rates, etc., you really shouldn’t book a trip to SA without consulting me and subsequently having me along on the trip with you!
I speak/understand 9 of the 11 official spoken languages, also on a Portuguese-learning terrace, so you’ll have a living, breathing translator of some potentially tricky nuances as well, if needs be. You’ll simply be rolling like a local, except you’ll enjoy the inherent visitor-privilege that comes with your mere passport!
Okay, I can go on and on and on… Book your consultation already, as I believe you get the point…
